ANOTHER

SEXSATIONAL

HNAUY

A HEAVY
EVIL FILM

FOR ILK. SHOW

DON'T SEE

PERFORMANCE, filmed some two
years ago, is finally about to be
unleashed on the British public.
It's probably the heaviest movie
ever made — a kaleidoscope of
transvetitism, sado-masochism,
deaths, bad fly, trips etc.

James Fox — Jagger as a retired
rock star, and Fox as a thug on
the run. Jagger is involved in a
three—way relationship with two
chicks at his Powis Square pad.
Fox moves in and is gradually
freaked—out and mentally dem-
olished.

It's a totally illogical movie. A
series of seemingly un—related
incidents, and complex inter-
relationships flashed across the
screen at almost subliminal speed—
Jagger/Fox Jagger/chicks Fox/
chicks, and chick/chick. Chilling
and very effective, with superb
editing and camera work.

Jagger is outrageous. Any doubts
about his acting ability that might
remain after "Ned Kelly" are eff-
ectively dispelled. He parodies and
caricatures himself; pouting, postur-
ing grimacing and generally acting
mean and ugly. The music comes
from Jack Nitzche, Ry Cooder, and

the Merry Clayton Singers. The
soundtrack album is now out and
even taken out of the context of

the film it's well worth hearing.
PERFORMANCE is an evil movie.

At times, it's almost pornographic,
and the violence scenes are sickeningly
realistic. Warner Bros, are warning
people not to see it while tripping —
they could well be right. It'll be
released in October/November this
year.

The Stones have just started their
first tour of Europe for 3Vi years.
Jagger was recently interviewed by
the Copenhagen paper "Politiken",
and came out with the following
statement:-

"I want to earn money on our new
records, not for the sake of the
money but to invest it in other
things, such as the Black Panther
breakfast programme for ghetto
children. We have already set
aside some bread for them, in
fact." He claimed that the profits
of the big American companies
went to buy arms and support
right-wing organisations. ~'\ want
the money to fight this with" he
finished.
